At a news conference on Parliament Hill today, federal ministers Marc Miller (Indigenous services), Carolyn Bennett (Crown-Indigenous relations) and Marco Mendicino (immigration, refugees and citizenship) make an announcement concerning the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 17. The commission called on the government to waive certain fees in order to enable residential school survivors and their families to reclaim names that were changed by the residential school system.
